With a surface area of 206 km2, Lac Chibougamau is located some ten kilometers south-east of the town of the same name, 5.9 km east of the summit of Montagne de la Tour (644 m altitude).
With a length of 35 km and a maximum width of 15.2 km, this lake is the source of the Chibougamau River.
Irregular in shape, Lac Chibougamau is dotted with dozens of islands and boasts a number of bays: Baie de la Magnétite, Finger, Nepton, Line, Inlet, Queylus, Anse aux Navets, Bug-in-a-Rug, de l’Hématite, Machin, Valiquette, de l’Ours, Cedar, du Portage and more.
A beautiful lake for a boat trip to catch fish or a kayak trip to discover the many bays.
Many services are offered at the Centre de Villégiature Marina Chibougamau: campground, cottages, marina, restaurants, boat rentals and a snowmobile relay in winter.
