Administered by the Cree Nation of Mistassini, this wildlife reserve covers an area of 16,400 km2. It includes Lac Mistassini, the largest natural freshwater lake in Quebec. An irresistible attraction for great adventurers. Lac Albanel is also a mythical spot for fishermen. The diversity of fish found in these two immense bodies of water, and the fact that trophy fish are caught here, make them must-sees for Quebec anglers. Walleye, lake trout, brook trout and northern pike are the fish that can be caught.
The Waconichi site features pretty cottages linked by wooden footbridges. Baie Pénicouane, despite being over 25 km long, remains a haven compared to the immense Lac Mistassini it opens onto. The campsite is very well equipped.
Several other lakes are accessible on the territory, including those in Réserve faunique Assinica.
Réserve faunique des Lacs-Albanel-Mistassini-et-Waconichi is a great place for fishing enthusiasts and lovers of the great outdoors.
