Gatineau River

There are two sections on the Gatineau River.
The Maniwaki/Bouchette section is 8 km long, with Class III and IV rapids, lined with white rock faces.
Protests are possible at every rapid.
Then there’s the Mercier-Grand-Remous section, stretching over a dozen kilometers.
Launching is possible directly downstream of the Mercier dam.
Unmarked portage trails are available for all rapids and falls.
Watch out for rapid RIII before Chute de la Montagne.
You can also camp at the river’s edge.
