Located on the shores of the lake on Île Notre-Dame, just a stone’s throw from the city, Plage Jean-Doré is an ideal, must-see spot for bathing enthusiasts. Here you can swim, relax, play volleyball and build sandcastles. The whole family can enjoy Aquazilla, a unique 30 m x 35 m inflatable structure featuring obstacles, slides and platforms for jumping into the water.
Protected from the wind by a belt of vegetation, the water of the Jean-Doré beach lake is generally calm, allowing safe pedal-boating, canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding. It’s also possible to explore the magnificent lagoon loop that circles the Jardins des Floralies. You can now use your own boat at Parc Jean-Drapeau; beach access required.
In summer, Éco Tours Montréal offers canoe, kayak and pedal-boat rentals. Kayak Sans Frontière (KSF) offers paddleboard rentals, as well as SUP, yoga and fitness classes.
Access
The beach is accessible by bike, car and public transport. If you have your own boat or would like to rent one, go to the water sports pavilion (parking lot P5).
