Symbol of Expo 67, visionary architect Buckminster Fuller ‘s sphere marks a pivotal moment in the history of contemporary architecture¹.
It is the largest building of its type in the world.
Its structure reproduces more than 75% of the sphere.
During the 1967 World’s Fair, the building became the U.S. pavilion, featuring a six-storey display of “Hundreds of artifacts and works of art testifying to American genius, as well as the spacecraft used during the Apollo flights.¹

An eco-building

Since 1995, the Biosphère has been dedicated to environmental action and education, and is considered a green building.
It is the only museum of its kind in North America.
The Biosphère stands out for its exhibits and activities, which enable visitors to learn about everyday solutions for living as an eco-citizen, and to better understand the major environmental issues related to air, water, biodiversity, climate change, sustainable development and more!
