La Route des Champs
Description
The bike path links the cities of Chambly and Granby over a distance of more than 40 km. It passes through the municipalities of Richelieu, Marieville, Rougement, Saint-Césaire and Saint-Paul-d’Abbotsford. Rural life is on show in the surrounding fields and woodlands, as well as through vineyards, orchards, market gardens and other points of interest.
The trail is now 100% asphalted. Along the way, you’ll find rest stops with picnic tables, toilets and water points. Several Bienvenue cyclistes-certified establishments are within easy reach. There are campsites and inns, as well as a number of cafés and restaurants.
Once you reach Granby, at the end of the La Route des Champs bike path, you can extend the route. Turn right, heading west, and continue on the La Montérégiade bike path. It passes through Farnham and Iberville to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Turning left, heading east, you’ll join the Estriade bike path. This Eastern Townships loop passes through the municipalities of Granby, Canton de Shefford, Bromont and Waterloo. Near Granby, you have the option of passing through the Yamaska National Park (Note: dogs are not allowed on the park’s bike path).
