This park is one of the smallest national parks in the province. It offers a charming landscape with varied vegetation cover, dominated by rich, mature maple stands. Its 12.9 km² territory preserves a fine cross-section of the Appalachian Lowlands natural region. Its gentle topography offers many panoramic views of the Choinière reservoir.
Whether by bike or on foot, it’s possible to cover several kilometers breathing in nature’s pure air, discovering a forest valley typical of the Appalachian lowlands. A testimony to the park’s creation in 1983, the 4.56 km² Choinière reservoir is a delight for water sports enthusiasts. This vast body of water is teeming with life. Fish, ducks and great blue herons live side by side. As do the many other animal species that find refuge here. At Parc national de la Yamaska, nature observation is renewed with each passing season.
In winter, the park remains accessible for snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, fat-biking, hiking on snow and wildlife observation. You can also sleep in the comfort of a Nature chalet.
