Pointe-aux-Outardes Nature Park

The Parc Nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes occupies the entire western tip of the Manicouagan peninsula.
Here, seven very different ecosystems come together over an area of 1.2 km2.
Along the 5.7 km of trails, you’ll discover a spruce-fir forest, a salt marsh, an alder grove, a peat bog, dunes, beaches and a pine forest.
The site is also exceptional for birdwatching.
No fewer than 200 species nest here or stop off on their migration.
The 22 km-long beach, from Pointe-aux-Outardes to Pointe-Lebel, is accessible to visitors.
At high tide, you can dive into shallow, safe and warm water, thanks to reverse stratification.
At low tide, you can walk up to four kilometers on the foreshore and feel the mud beneath your feet.
The park’s main objectives are to develop and promote the area, with a constant focus on environmental conservation and enhancement.
An interpretation center with an ecological, educational, recreational-tourist, cultural and scientific vocation, the park offers equipment, facilities and services for the benefit of local residents, North Shore visitors and tourists of all ages.
