Located in the heart of the Appalachian Corridor, in Potton Township near Mansonville, this narrow valley winds its way between the Sutton Mountains. The territory covers almost 300 hectares of forest, with streams, a mountain and wetlands.
The Ruiter Valley Land Trust offers free access to more than 30 km of marked and groomed trails for environmentally friendly activities such as hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, which are enjoyed in designated areas. The trails are divided into three main areas: Shepherd, Ruiter and Fullerton. They range from easy to intermediate.
The Fiducie trails also provide a link to the Missisquoi North trail, which starts in Mansonville, to the Réserve naturelle des Montagnes-Vertes and to the Eastern Townships trails.
Through its “Wildlife Without Borders” program, inspired by the Keeping Track project in Vermont, it introduces young and old alike to the scientific protocols involved in counting animal species; wildlife training sessions led by specialists.
