The Parc régional du Poisson Blanc is made up of two sectors with very different but complementary geographical attributes. The Rapide-du-Fort terrestrial sector for pleasures such as hiking and contemplating magnificent landscapes, and the Poisson Blanc Reservoir navigable sector for canoeing and camping on the islands, for example.
The Navigable Sector of the Poisson Blanc Reservoir features some 80 islands within the Park’s boundaries, as well as extensive water corridors and countless bays that can be explored by canoe, kayak or motorboat.
The Poisson Blanc Reservoir is a fishing paradise: you can tease lake trout, walleye, pike, bass and many other species… What’s more, several islands, too small for camping, are available for daily breaks.
Pointe Dallaire and Sand-Bar Island, with their sublime beaches, offer moments of respite and unforgettable encounters. Enjoy the generous beauty of nature on Île Mystérieuse and take in the extraordinary scenery of Amelia Bay and the surrounding area…
In the 25 km2 Rapide-du-Fort terrestrial sector, the Montagne du Diable de Notre-Dame-du-Laus (or Montagne du Fort) boasts several exceptional ecosystems, including an old-growth forest, a refuge forest and a unique flora habitat; its territory is decidedly vast and diverse. The park now boasts 17 km of hiking and snowshoeing trails to help you discover the riches of Montagne du Diable. For ATV and snowmobile enthusiasts, the Park’s land sector features 280 km and 100 km of trails, respectively.
