Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau

Jacques-Cartier Park is one of the capital’s main parks for public activities.
It is the site of national festivities such as the Canada Day celebrations.
It offers some of the finest views of the Ottawa River and Rideau Falls.
There are also vast flowerbeds.
It’s a great place for cycling.
You can use the recreational pathways to get to the capital’s downtown core, or take in the natural beauty of Lac Leamy, Gatineau Park or farther afield.
The park was named after one of Canada’s first explorers, Jacques Cartier.
In the past, the area was a place to stop and camp before the portage around the Chaudière Falls.
Two historic buildings can be seen in the park.
