Parc régional des Grèves, considered by many hikers to be the little-known gem of Montérégie hiking, is located just 40 minutes from major metropolitan highways.
Its 12 km network of free trails crosses the park from east to west, linking the 2 visitor centers. The many suggested itineraries will surprise you with their wealth of ecosystems. A mature mixed forest, peat bogs, an old-growth pine forest culminating in access to the banks of the St. Lawrence River impose their nature. A change of scenery guaranteed! All enhanced by facilities dedicated to hikers:
- 1.4 km footbridge on stilts;
- Observatory on a peat bog;
- River walk ;
- Nature and heritage interpretation stations
- Picnic areas;
- Mini-farm;
- Hebertism track;
- 2 reception posts (Sorel-Tracy and Contrecoeur)
At the Contrecoeur sector reception desk, a rental service offers canoes on summer weekends and cross-country skis, snowshoes, tubes and snow scooters in winter.
Under the snow, Parc régional des Grèves offers a network of 9 km of cross-country ski trails and 5 km of skating trails. Hiking is served by 10 km of trails for both snowshoeing and winter walking. Access to trails is free.
