Parc Les Salines is an outdoor park located in Saint-Hyacinthe along the Jean-Lesage highway. It covers an area of 105 hectares, over 60% of which is wooded. The park offers walkers and cyclists 8 km of trails. The picnic area features a variety of play modules, including water games.
In winter, the artificial snow slide is a delight for many enthusiasts. The 8 km of cross-country ski trails and the 10 km of snowshoe trails provide a change of scenery in the forest, without leaving the city. The on-site ice ring completes the range of activities.
Equipment rentals are available on site: walking sticks (free), snowboard helmets, cross-country ski equipment, baby walking sleds (Pelican), baby cross-country ski sleds (Baby Glider), skates, snowshoes, learn-to-skate racks, snow scooters, tubes and toboggans.
The origin of the name Les Salines comes from the land’s many saltwater springs. One of these was exploited by the Compagnie d’eau Minérale de Saint-Hyacinthe and distributed across Canada under the name Philudor until the end of the Second World War.
