This 1,850,000-square-meter park in the heart of the city serves as both a recreational area and a wildlife conservation site.
There’s an observation marsh, 3 artificial lakes, a sundial, a children’s playground, 2 petanque courts, a rest area with picnic tables, a sliding hill, an ice rink and community gardens.
In all, 20 kilometers of bike paths, hiking trails, cross-country ski trails and an ecological trail crisscross this urban forest.
Many species of birds, small mammals and even white-tailed deer can be observed here.
During the summer season, animation programs and country concerts are held every Sunday.
In winter, a chalet welcomes skiers on 12 km of well-groomed cross-country ski trails, including a 1.3 km corridor for skate skiing.
A portion of the trails is lit year-round for evening strolls.
