Important notice! The Magnan waterfall site is definitively closed and access is now forbidden.
The municipality of Saint-Paulin boasts one of the four highest waterfalls in Quebec, the Magnan Falls (approx. 45 metres high). Located 3 kilometers from the village on Route 350, Magnan Falls is the natural result of the flow of the Rivière du Loup.
At the time, the Mauricie economy was based on a mixed agro-forestry system. Several sawmills were built here, including the one built by Augustin Magnan around 1860 at the Magnan Falls.
