Located in the Duvernay sector of Laval, Bois Papineau covers an area of 1 km² and is mostly covered by forest. An ecological trail takes you through this woodland, which boasts over 300 species of plants, trees and shrubs. There’s also a hickory maple grove and the 200-year-old beech forest for which the park is famous.
As well as walking under the trees, you can cross fields to reach a lookout offering a view over the marsh. You can spot various species of animals and birds, such as red fox and great horned owl. In winter, the 7 km trail can also be explored on snowshoes or cross-country skis.
