Orphan trail network

The Orphans interpretive trail network is a project developed by the municipality of Wentworth-Nord to educate and raise awareness of the environment, and to enhance the value of natural environments through recreational tourism activities. It consists of a network of multi-purpose trails, complete with interpretation panels, footbridges and other facilities, which enable visitors to discover the region’s wetlands and wildlife species, while learning about their protection.

The trails can be explored on foot or by mountain bike, as well as on snowshoes or cross-country skis in winter. The trails wind through a mixed forest of outstanding quality. A 460 m-high lookout offers a magnificent view of Lake Saint-François-Xavier and the surrounding hills. What’s more, both ends of the Orphans trail are linked to the Aerobic Corridor, giving access to a complete loop around the lake (approx. 11km).
