The park offers a 16 km multifunctional trail linking Walter-MacKenzie Park in the town of Scotstown to the Scots Marsh in the municipality of Hampden, as well as to the Franceville sector of Parc national du Mont-Mégantic. Several stops have been set up along both Rivière au Saumon and Ruisseau McLeod. These stops feature interpretive panels on fauna, flora, forestry and the history of the Log Hauler logging train.
The trail is accessible by hiking and biking. You can also canoe and kayak on the river and in the swamp. In winter, the trail is marked for cross-country skiing, but is shared with hikers and snowshoers.
It is possible to continue for a further 4.5 kilometers inside the Franceville sector of Parc national du Mont-Mégantic on the Vallée trail. Note that there is an access fee for the section inside the national park.
Access
You can access the trail from the Franceville colony rest area, the Marécage-des-Scots rest area and Walter-MacKenzie Park. The latter two also offer a launching area for canoes and kayaks. Parking and picnic tables available at each entrance.
