Sentier de l’Orignac

Viewpoint from a summit on the Orignac trail

This long-distance trail was designed and developed by Sentiers de la Capitale and is now managed by La Traversée de Charlevoix. Its route is a continuation of the Traversée de Charlevoix raid and an integral part of the Trans Canada Trail and the National Trail in Quebec.

The trail is distinguished by its wilderness character, with a diversity of ecosystems ranging from maple groves to tundra. There are many viewpoints along the way, including a particularly striking one at km 4. You’ll be able to see Mont Grand Fonds, the Rivière Noire valley and Les Palissades. At the summit of Montagne des Taillis is an open spruce-cladina forest. From here, you can contemplate the St. Lawrence River and the valley of the Les Palissades geological fault.
