Marécage-des-Scots multifunctional trail

Description

The 8.3 km linear trail links Walter-Makenzie Park in the town of Scotstown to the Halte de la Colonie in Franceville. Several other rest stops have been set up along the way. The Rivière-au-Saumon, McLeod Creek and the Scots Swamp are all within easy reach.

The trail is entirely forested. Its surface is made of stone dust. It can be explored on foot or by bike. In winter, it is designed for classic cross-country skiing, but is shared with hikers and snowshoers.

As the Halte de la Colonie is located opposite the access road to the Franceville sector of Parc national du Mont-Mégantic, it is possible to extend the route along the park’s trails. By bike, you can take the Piste de la Vallée. Hiking trails are offered in the Mini Compostelle Mégantic.
