The new par national du Québec will be located in the Lower St. Lawrence region, in the Témiscouata RCM. Centered around Lake Témiscouata, the region’s largest and most majestic lake, the park’s territory boasts remarkable natural assets and straddles the Les Cascades Sutherland sector, the jewel in the crown of the Lower St. Lawrence National Trail. Once completed, it will be ideal for boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, cycling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
With construction underway, Lac-Témiscouata national park is scheduled to open in 2012. In the meantime, it’s possible to stay in a cottage and hike the Bas-St-Laurent national trail.
