Following reports of a cougar, the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (MRNF) has issued a reminder of the safety precautions to be taken in the presence of wild animals. Among other things, it teaches you to distinguish between canids (coyotes, wolves and foxes) and felids (lynxes and cougars).
Note that no concrete proof of cougar presence has been provided. However, the last sighting I remember was in Gatineau Park.
