Sainte-Marguerite River

Sainte-Margueritte River in Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean

The Sainte-Marguerite River flows from the Monts-Valins to the magnificent Saguenay Fjord in a wooded, mountainous setting in a little-used valley. A preserved heritage unique in Quebec, close to the Saguenay, Quebec City and the Upper North Shore.

A true angler’s paradise: 3 branches, 4 observation lookouts, 100 km of river and 100 trout bridges where you can see and fish for salmon and sea trout in their natural habitat. Is this your first visit? Call on the services of a guide to quickly learn about the particularities of the pools and fishing techniques. Note: Atlantic salmon fishing license and daily fishing fee required.

Various types of accommodation are available if you wish to stay directly on the river, including wilderness camping, prospector tents, rustic camps and cottages. ATV, canoe, fishing rod and boot rentals are also available.
