Located east of Alma Island, this is where the Petite and Grande Décharge rivers join to form the Saguenay River. The site takes its name from the fact that Americans came here to set up their fishing camp in the 19th century.
Parc de la Pointe-des-Américains offers a trail with several loops through a mixed forest dominated by hardwoods. In summer, hiking and mountain biking take center stage. In winter, snowshoers can enjoy the marked trails.
Access
One trail starts at the top of the mountain at Mont Villa Saguenay ski resort, and another near the intersection of rue des Pins Est and chemin du Pont Taché.
