Discover Quebec City’s longest walking trail, the Parc linéaire de la rivière St-Charles. A 32 km trail along the banks of the Saint-Charles River, from its mouth (Bassin Louise) in the Old Port to its source, Lake Saint-Charles. The route passes through a multitude of urban and wilderness landscapes. It passes through numerous parks and historic sites. You’ll see waterfalls, meanders, escarpments, floodplains and canyons.
Hikers can observe a wide variety of bird and plant species. Cycling is also possible on the 4 km-long multifunctional trail located on either side of the river between Samson Bridge and Scott Bridge. Between Scott Bridge and Lac St-Charles, the trail is reserved for hikers.
In winter, several sections are groomed for walking: 7 km in Parc Les Saules, 3 km in Parc Chauveau and 10 km between the Château d’eau and Lac Saint-Charles. Snowshoeing enthusiasts can enjoy a 4 km circuit on the secondary trails of Parc Les Saules.
