The 450-hectare André Michaux ecological reserve is located in Denholm, on the banks of the Gatineau River, about 6 km northeast of the municipality of Low.
The purpose of this ecological reserve is to protect ecosystems typical of the Lower Gatineau, namely stands of basswood maple and yellow birch maple.
The reserve’s name pays tribute to André Michaux (1746-1803), a French botanist and explorer.
