Situated 5 km from the village of Tadoussac, the Dunes are two immense marine sand terraces uncovered some 10,000 years ago by the last glacial melt. The Dunes overlook the Moulin à Baude bay, offering an exceptional panoramic view of the St. Lawrence. Take the time to observe seabirds, birds of prey and marine mammals that may be cruising offshore.
TheTadoussac Bird Observatory (OOT) has set up a lookout atop one of the dunes, 60 meters above the St. Lawrence maritime estuary. The site is considered the best place in Quebec to observe migrating diurnal birds of prey.
On the east side, a footpath leads down to the beach in the bay at the foot of the dunes. Here you can play in the sand or simply relax.
