It covers an area of 414.84 hectares.
The local micro-climate and the environment of the St. Lawrence alluvial plain where the bog is located mean that both northern and southern plants can be found here, far from their respective breeding grounds.
Two rare plant species have been identified here, the bulbous arethusa and the Virginia woodwardie.
Moose, white-tailed deer, beaver, snowshoe hare and hundreds of bird species can be found on the territory.
The reserve offers an educational visit to the interpretation pavilion and a guided tour of the 600-metre bog trail. Note: this is the only ecological reserve in Quebec open to the public.
