Overlooking Baie-des-Chaleurs, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, Mont Saint-Joseph enjoys a unique geographical position; with its 555-metre vertical drop and just 5 km from the coast, it offers an accessible location for outdoor activities, as well as several spectacular viewpoints. The park boasts 20 km of mountain bike trails, 30 km of hiking trails and 10 climbing routes. You can also spend the night in one of the geodomes perched on the mountainside, with windows offering a breathtaking view of the Carleton-sur-Mer barachois.
In winter, the summer trails and infrastructure on Mont Saint-Joseph are closed. However, rue de la Montagne remains freely accessible to Nordic walkers, snowshoers, fatbikers and tobogganers. The Ruisseau Bastien area near the residential neighborhoods and the Carleton-sur-Mer golf course are also accessible to winter sports enthusiasts, who can hike, snowshoe, Nordic ski and fatbike.
