Step back in time with a visit to the Gold Mine Interpretation Centre, and learn about the search for gold by ferry or river.
Follow in the footsteps of Abenaki Archleas Annance (nicknamed Archie) and the miners, and discover the fascinating history of this site and the people who worked here from 1862 to 1960.
The Gold Mine Trail, about 3.5 km long, takes you from the interpretation center to the small waterfall on Mining Creek.
Along the way, you’ll discover the remains of former miners who, since the mid-19th century, have searched for and mined gold placers all along the creek.
A suspension bridge across the Mining Creek now takes visitors to the old mine shaft.
At the halfway point, you can rest at a covered lookout before starting the second section of the trail, which passes through beautiful forest stands.
Waterfalls await you at the end of the trail.
