Burbank Pond

Burbank Pond from the air

The 1 km² site is characterized by its bracken marsh, the size of which is unique in the region. This extremely rich environment, with its multitude of plant communities, is home to an abundance and variety of wildlife. Frogs, turtles, snakes, muskrats, mink, stoats, otters, raccoons and deer can all be observed here.

Four kilometers of trails and a 290-meter footbridge lead to the observation tower, where you can admire the flora and fauna. A trail leads to an impressive beaver dam.

Birdwatchers can observe over a hundred species of birds. In spring, more than 16 species of ducks steal the show. In summer, swallows, willow flycatchers, warblers and other passerines take to the air in search of insects! In autumn, snow geese and Canada geese stop here on their long migration south.

Access

Access to the pond is via the Danville Town Hall entrance. Parking is free at all times. You can also access the site via the other end of the trail.
