Abbey tour

The Circuit de l’Abbaye is much more than just a walk. It’s an adventure that lets you discover rural Quebec, recharge your batteries and challenge yourself. The long-distance walking route forms a 149 km loop starting from the emblematic Abbey of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac. It passes through seven municipalities: Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, Austin, Orford, Eastman, Saint-Étienne-de-Bolton, Bolton-Est and Canton de Potton. Through thick and thin, walkers discover the treasures they hold in store – breathtaking landscapes, historic and heritage sites, and a warm welcome. On each stage, you’ll stay in accommodation along the way.

You can register for a fee and receive a walker’s kit by mail. The Tour can be completed in 8 to 10 days, in 5-day half-tours, or even as a daily discovery package. A self-guided itinerary: you plan your own route and book your own accommodation. Accommodation varies from village to village: bed and breakfast, inn, hotel, campsite or forest refuge.

To plan your walk, take a look at the sample itineraries and the interactive map.
