Located between Berthier-sur-Mer and Montmagny, the archipelago comprises 21 islands and islets covering an area of 26.4 km2, stretching from Île aux Oies to Île Madame. Thousands of migratory birds can be seen stopping here. Guided tours are offered to introduce visitors to the daily life of the islanders, the economy and the political and social life of Îsle-aux-Grues, as well as tours to discover the culture, heritage and nature of the archipelago. Boat cruises are also available. Snow geese and a colony of Razorbills can be observed. You can also visit the archipelago by sea kayak. The hikes stretch over some twenty kilometers. You’ll need to be intermediate to advanced, and preferably paddle in a group. Tides reach a maximum of 6 meters. You can’t stop on islands other than L’Isle-aux-Grues, as they are privately owned. The latter is accessible via the Montmagny ferry. There’s a municipal campground and several B&Bs and inns where you can spend the night.
