Located in Saint-Paul-de-Montminy, this 853-metre-high mountain is the highest accessible peak in the Parc des Appalaches. From the summit you can see the municipality’s farmlands, as well as the Charlevoix mountains on the north shore of the St. Lawrence. Grande Coulée mountain is the starting point for the long hike.
To climb the 363-metre-high mountain, you’ll have to take the Moose Trail and cross the Ruisseau de la Coulée several times, where small footbridges are set up. The trail passes through a moose ravine and ends in a maple grove. From the summit, hikers have three choices: turn back, discover the south side of the mountain via the Versants trail, or continue on a long hike towards Accueil des Orignaux as far as Saint-Fabien-de-Panet (summer season only).
In winter, the trails can be explored on snowshoes.
