The Chemin de Saint-Jacques-Appalaches is a signposted route covering more than 250 km in the Thetford region. As most of the route is on quiet, unpaved rural roads, it’s equally suited to long-distance walkers and gravel bike enthusiasts!
Note that some parts of the circuit are on busier roads, notably Route 112 and Route 271. The route also includes optional footpaths, an urban bike path and a crossing under a high-voltage power line.
The Chemin de Saint-Jacques-Appalaches criss-crosses the Thetford region, where hills, lakes, rivers, forests and mining landscapes are commonplace. Natural, heritage and tourist attractions dot the circuit.
Whether you’re cycling or walking, the way the circuit works is simple: you’re on your own! You choose the sections that suit you; you take the time you need!
