Sentier Provencher – Groulx Mountains
Description
Marked trail leading to Mont Provencher in the Groulx Mountains. It is possible to continue the hike to Mont Veyrier or Mont Oxyria. The trail is unmarked, as hikers must make their own tracks to avoid damaging the fragile taiga and tundra vegetation at this altitude. The trail is accessible on foot from June 15 to early September. In winter, use the Provencher stream trail.
Important!
Effective immediately, the Mont Provencher trail is CLOSED (Km 335, route 389). Structures may be broken, many trees are on the ground and threatening to fall. Runoff has degraded the trail. Due to outdated infrastructure and facilities, the trail will remain closed until it has been fully inspected and the infrastructure secured. Please do not venture onto the trail until it has been opened.
For safety reasons, hikers are invited to choose another trail or postpone their hike. La Société des Amis des Monts Groulx accepts no responsibility for accidents.
