La Montagnarde
Description
A magnificent cycling and pedestrian trail, the Montagnarde is a section of Route verte #1, linking the towns of Waterloo, Eastman, Orford and Magog over a distance of more than 57 km, 34 km of which is on a bike path. La Montagnarde is also part of the Trans Canada Trail. This route is characterized by its elevations, its stretches of water and its many incredible vistas of mountains and lush forests.
The route starts near Frost Village, at the junction with the La Campagnarde bike path, on Chemin de la Dilligence. In Eastman, take the bike path to Mont Orford National Park. The trail crosses the park as far as the Le Cerisier service center. After leaving the park, the route alternates between road and bike path until Magog.
To extend the route, you can continue on Route Verte #1. You’ll pass through Deauville, then at the intersection with Route 216 (ch. de Ste-Catherine) you’ll turn right, heading south. This is the start of the southern part of the Grandes-Fourches cycle route loop. It runs to North Hatley, then north to Sherbrooke.
