Aerial view of the Métabetchouane and Lac-St-Jean historical and archaeological site

This historic and archaeological site of national interest, located near the site of the old French and English trading posts, was a place of encounters and exchanges between the Amerindians. It’s one of the few tourist attractions on the shores of majestic Lac-Saint-Jean!

Through exhibitions and activities, immerse yourself in the history of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region by reliving the encounter between Europeans and Aboriginals. The permanent exhibition “Culture shock – Métabetchouan” highlights the way one culture looks at another. Come and discover this unique site in an original, interactive and multi-sensory way.
