Parc de la Plage-Jacques-Cartier is one of the few natural woodlands open to the general public overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
It is considered exceptional, as it is made up of noble hardwoods, some of which are remarkably large, and three red oak groves with sugar maple, recognized for their rarity.
Running for over 3 kilometers along the river, the park leads to the Cap-Rouge nautical park.
In fact, you can enjoy a meal at the Parc Nautique bistro, which also has a terrace and a dairy bar.
The walking trail allows you to observe the tides of the river, the escarpments, the Québec and Pierre-Laporte bridges, as well as boats.
The site is accessible at all times from the Cap-Rouge coast and, at varying times, from Chemin Saint-Louis. Note: Swimming is FORBIDDEN for 2 reasons: the quality of the water and the fact that there is no life-guard protected area for the hours when swimming would be possible.
