Canada’s first national historic park, Battlefields Park includes the Plains of Abraham and Des Braves Park. Sports such as in-line skating, running, walking, cycling, soccer, soccer, cross-country skiing and a host of other recreational activities can be enjoyed in an inviting environment.
Near Côte Gilmour, the 1 km Plains of Abraham multifunctional trail (open year-round) focuses on the history of the site with interpretive panels, and is a popular link between the Promenade Samuel-de-Champlain and Quebec City’s Upper Town. In summer, you can also enjoy 1.4 km of multifunctional trails all around the sports field.
In winter, there are over 14 km of trails for cross-country skiing, almost 4 km round-trip for snowshoeing and 6.7 km for walking. An ice ring is also located just a stone’s throw from the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, on the sports field.
