Devil’s Mountain has four peaks: Belzébuth, Garde-Feu, Paroi and Devil’s Mountain, which reaches an altitude of 778 metres, making it the highest mountain in the Hautes-Laurentides region. It is also known as Mont Sir-Wilfrid, named in honour of federal Prime Minister Wilfrid-Laurier. The 100-square-kilometre forest stretches from the village of Ferme-Neuve in the east to Windigo Bay on the Baskatong reservoir in the west.
There are some 80 km of trails for hiking and snowshoeing, 56 km for Nordic skiing and 45 km for classic cross-country skiing. The trails are accessible via five different entrances, allowing short and long hikes. There are many lakes, streams and panoramic viewpoints. To the north-west of Windigo Lake, you’ll find the waterfall of the same name, which descends 55 metres down a slope flush with rock.
