Climbing
There are around twenty routes, from level 2 to 4+, ranging from 25 to 35 metres. This low-traffic site is ideal for ice climbing in winter, as the routes face south and are protected from the wind.
Swaggin River Trail
This trail is part of the national trail that crosses the Matawinie region from west to east over more than 170 kilometers. It begins with an ascent of Montagne du Tranchant and descends on the north side. We then head for the Swaggin River, a tributary of the Rivière l’Assomption. Finally, we follow the river, where we’ll see waterfalls and cascades. In all, we will have covered 8.5 km.
At the end of the trail, beside the Rivière L’Assomption and close to the Rivière Swaggin, you’ll have access to the Swaggin refuge and a primitive campsite overlooked by the footbridge that spans the Rivière L’Assomption to link the Swaggin and Boule trails.
Access
Access to the trail is via the parking lot on chemin du Lac Clair. A few metres away, across the street, you can access the Contreforts Trail, another section of the National Trail that heads west.
