Lake Matapedia

The regional park offers numerous access points to sand and pebble shores. The shores to the north of Lake Matapedia benefit from maximum sunshine, thanks to their southern and south-western exposure. The park has four exceptional sites offering access to Lake Matapedia for swimming, relaxation, photography and more. The lake access sites are located at Pointe Fine, Dépôt à Soucy, l’ancien Chalet à Soucy and Baie de Charlie.

Hiking trails

The park has 7 hiking trails totalling almost 28 km. They are spread over four different sectors. The “Dépôt à Soucy” sector, with trails such as Le Lac Caché (1.4 km loop, easy), Les Trois Soeurs (5.3 km loop, intermediate) and Les Rochers (6.4 km linear, intermediate). The Sayabec “Baie de Charlie” sector with trails Les Criques (loop 4 km, easy) and Le Petit Lac (loop 4.9 km, easy). Pointe Fine” sector, with access to Le Promontoire trail (1.4 km loop, easy). Finally, the “Chalet à Soucy” sector for the Les Crêtes trail (3.8 km linear, moderate to difficult).

Take a stroll along the trails and discover the beauty of Lake Matapedia. You’ll also have access to a number of smaller lakes. In some areas of Lac Matapédia, you’ll be able to observe the diversity of wildlife found in the Seigneurie. Don’t be surprised if you see a bald eagle! In the Sayabec “Baie de Charlie” sector, a small lake is frequented by moose. See a large beaver dam and an eagle’s nest perched near an observation tower.

Mountain biking

From the Dépôt à Soucy, the route begins on the La Coulée trail (7 km), continues on a section of the Ceinturon (1.9 km) and then returns to the Dépôt parking lot via the Soucy road (3.1 km). Route Soucy is 23.9 km long and crosses the entire Seigneurie du lac Matapédia territory. You can cycle on different sections of the route, and create your own itinerary according to your fitness level. In addition, a branch of forest roads has been created through forest management work. Quiet, vistas and multiple itineraries are on offer.
