The only one of its kind in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park offers a family experience with a wide range of activities for all ages to discover the fascinating world of fossils and paleontology.
Exhibition tours
The park’s national collection includes some 16,000 fossils, the most remarkable of which are on display in the “From Water to Earth” exhibition room. Come and discover the finest specimens of fish, invertebrates and plants found over the decades by the park’s research teams. These exceptional fossils are placed in context, providing an insight into life as it flourished between land and sea 380 million years ago.
Discovery of a cliff
The cliff face is an extraordinary place to learn, as it brings visitors into contact with the park’s raison d’être: the fossiliferous cliff face. All your questions about geology, fossiliferous formation and excavations will be answered at the foot of the cliff.
The evolutionary path of life
Along a 3.5-kilometre loop along the cliff, the park’s hiking trail offers magnificent views of the Restigouche River estuary. As you walk, splendidly illustrated panels will take you on a journey from the first vertebrates to the arrival of humans.
