Cap Aventure specializes in sea kayaking for marine mammal observation. It offers visits to seal colonies (gray and harbor) and sightings of porpoises, dolphins, pilot whales, minke whales, humpback whales, fin whales and blue whales. Departures are from Cap-aux-Os beach.
Several services are available. Sea kayaking courses accredited by the F.Q.C.K. (Fédération québécoise de canot et kayak). Introduction to basic kayaking techniques. Guided tours of 2 h 45 min, 4 h and one day. Exclusive packages with a guided sea kayak tour and overnight stay at the Forillon International Inn for one or two nights.
By the sea, rustic campsites are available for kayakers. All the equipment you need is at your disposal: paddle, skirt, PFD, dry bag and binoculars.
The company works in partnership with biologists from the Réseau d’observation des mammifères marins (ROMM), as well as with instructors from the “Éco-interprètes” program at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. The project also includes a survey of marine mammals (particularly seals), contributing to their protection and conservation.
