Parc régional Massawippi was created in 2007 to oversee the development and management of Lake Massawippi through an agreement between each of the municipalities surrounding the lake.
The non-profit organization Bleu Massawippi, founded in 1968, is also responsible for preserving and improving the ecosystem health of Lake Massawippi and its watershed.
Access to the lake by non-motorized craft is authorized through the purchase of an annual vignette at a cost of $5.
For motorized boats, an annual vignette is also required; please note that restrictions may apply to non-residents.
Access points are located at the North Hatley Marina (240 Mill St., North Hatley) and at the Régie du Parc Massawippi beach and marina (473 Main St., Ayer’s Cliff).
Massawippi Beach, once owned by the Pères Servites, is now a public beach.
Located in Ayer’s Cliff, it belongs to the municipalities of Hatley, Canton de Hatley, Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley and Ayer’s Cliff.
Access is free, but parking is charged.
During the summer, the “Le Wippi” shuttle sails on the waters of Lake Massawippi.
Designed for cyclists and pedestrians, it crosses the lake between the municipalities of Ayer’s Cliff and North Hatley.
Boarding points are located at the municipal docks in Ayer’s Cliff (Route 141, opposite the rest area) and North Hatley (Main Street, opposite School Street).
Each trip takes about an hour.
