Located in the Trottier sector of Sainte-Hélène-de-Chester, near Victoriaville in the Bois-Francs region, the Trottier hiking trail offers a 6-11 km hike in an enchanting setting. For long-distance hikers, the 26 km Trottier-Arthabaska trail links Trottier and Victoriaville. The trails offer a wide variety of scenery, ranging from the river to mountain views of the Appalachian Mountains, where you’ll witness a rich variety of flora. You can spot deer, hares, foxes and many species of birds.
Two main trails begin at the Hameau de Trottier reception area. The Cascades trail, a 6 km loop that follows two streams with waterfalls that end in the Bulstrode River. And the sentier du Pic (via les Cascades), a 9.5 km loop with a 250 m vertical drop and views of the river and the village of Trottier. From the Sainte-Hélène reception area, the Coyotte trail links the village to the Pic trail. At the Rue Girouard parking lot in Victoriaville, the Petite and Grande Boucle des Antennes trails, on hilly terrain, also offer magnificent views.
Open summer and winter (except during hunting season), you can enjoy hiking, winter walking and snowshoeing.
