Baie-du-Febvre Bird Observatory

Snow geese

Every spring, towards the end of March, thousands of snow geese stop off on the flood plains of Baie-du-Fèvre. This important gathering place allows them to recharge their batteries and feed on the grain left in the fields after the harvest.

Depending on whether spring comes earlier or later, the number of geese and other ducks peaks around mid-April. Visitors flock in large numbers to admire the spectacular flight of these magnificent birds.

A visit to the Baie-du-Febvre Interpretation Centre, located at 420 route Marie-Victorin, will give you a better understanding of why geese stop off at Baie-du-Febvre during migration.
