Parc des Chutes

Parc des Chutes is located in the heart of downtown Rivière-du-Loup.
It features a restored former hydroelectric power station.
From the top of the two footbridges overlooking the Rivière du Loup, you can observe the 33-metre waterfall that gives access to the park.
On the other side, you’ll have access to 10 kilometers of hiking trails, as well as to Parc de la Croix.
Throughout the site, interpretive panels provide information on the park’s hydroelectric heritage and urban ecosystems: marsh, orchard, cedar, rocky cape, river and mixed forest.
There are many vantage points overlooking the city and the river panorama, and the site is ideal for admiring sunsets.
In winter, thanks to a rock wall freeze system, ice climbing activities are added for the most daring climbers.
The trails remain accessible on foot.
