Cycling Circuit

Véloroute des Bleuets – Route verte #8

Description

Enjoy an unforgettable experience on the Véloroute des Bleuets, a 256 km cycling circuit that circles the majestic Lac Saint-Jean. This diversified route crosses 15 municipalities, passes by numerous tourist sites, and offers many opportunities for dining and lodging.

The route, with very few gradients, is rated easy to intermediate. With the exception of Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon, it is 100% asphalted, with 46% on cycle paths, 21% on designated roadways and 33% on asphalt shoulders. All along the route, there are 35 free bike stops equipped with picnic tables, litter garbage cans and bike racks.

Free authorized parking is available close to the circuit, in every municipality. A luggage shuttle service is available from June 1 to the end of September.

In addition, you can cycle from Jonquière to Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, and between Albanel and Girardville on the associated “Au fil des rivières” cycling network which, like the Véloroute des Bleuets, is part of the Route verte (Route verte #8 in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean), a cycling network linking the most beautiful regions of Quebec: www.routeverte.com.
